I just bought a 1450. I'm looking at changing the oil in the Hydro unit as the previous owner assured me that it still has the original fluid from the factory - but he had changed the filter "once in the while".
The owners manual says nothing about changing the fluid but I figured with 26 years its probably time. I've been told the best way to to do this is to pull the rear cover, drain, replace the filter then replace the cover with a new seal and 7 quarts of Hytran. Anyone know of any issues doing it this way?
Is there a safe additive (stop leak) to add with the Hytran? I'm hoping to prevent the fresh oil from springing any fresh leaks.
This unit came with a Number 2 Tiller but I almost didn't get the rear angle pulley (PO couldn't find it at first). How much trrouble would I have been in if it wasn't located?
Anyone know where to find a new grill (lower) or what makes a decent replacement?
