122 Front Pto

My front PTO does not seem to disengage. It has worked great until we threw the drive belt while mowing. (My grandson had taken the deck off to clean it, I'm not sure if maybe he didn't have the tension right?). After putting it back on and starting the tractor I realized that the PTO was still engaged when I tightened the belt. I backed the tension off and looking at the pulley it still turns with the PTO disengaged, I brought up the parts blow up but I can't really see how it's supposed to work. Along with my new knee not being quite ready to kneel down, I'm hoping someone might be able to tell me where to start looking for the problem. Thanks for any info!

Have you checked the linkage that depresses the PTO clutch, the turnbuckle adjusts the play. It has to be removed to replace the belt.
How does the button on the lever look?

Thanks, that gives me a starting place. I'm trying to cut down on the number of times I have to get down to look at and work on it!

Update: I don't know what he did but my Grandson fixed it. It just said he readjusted something he had loosened when removing the deck!
