1000 loader

Hi all, joined for some info. A few montgs ago i got my first cub, a 66 lo boy. Day one i started looking trying to get a feel for what all can be done/added to these amazing little tractors. I came across these forums and saw a standard cub with a loader and what looks to be a Case D100 backhoe on it. That post was from 2014 and was wondering if anyone has any insight to adding a loader and how to my lo boy. Not knowing the negativity I woukd get from otger groups and forums I bought a 1000 loader. But am getting a lot of folks say i will destroy my cub.
Anyone own a cub and using a 1000 and/or a backhoe on theirs?
I see tgeres is an app for this site, does it work well?

I have had a 1000 for a lot of years. It’s not made for heavy construction work. Use it for light work nd you will be fine.

They WILL destroy a cub for sure!! --- even light work is hard on them. Get a mini skidloader and never look back!! I got an AGT LRT23 and its the handiest thing on the planet! The L-12 excavators are the next handiest thing! lol!!

The IH1000 Loader will work on an International Cub Loboy, though you do need to modify the mounting frame, unless the one you bought came off a LoBoy. The LoBoy final drives are turned forward to drop the height approx. 9" compared to a Standard Cub. The front axle spindles of the Loboy are shorter by the same amount, actually a good thing if you have a Loader on the tractor.
The IH1000 Loader is much better suited to the 140 however as Cecil points out, you are not going to turn your Cub LoBoy into a construction machine. With a bucket of stuff, turning is a chore.
It's also not an easy on-easy off implement either. Plan on leaving it installed!
Sonny makes a good point about the loader durability/usefulness with a Cub. If you need a loader bucket on a regular basis, a skid steer or larger tractor will be a better option.

Yea spreading some gravel and loose stuff is all i woukdnever consider. Would never expect to actaully dig a hole with it.

Loose stuff like gravel. This spring i hand leveled 15 ton in my mud driveway. Light stuff plus i think the 1000 is cool. Guy i bought it from told me it would bolt right up.

I had a 1000 on a cub for about 5 years. I purchased a non-running 130 about 7 years ago just to move the 1000 to it. Much happier with that setup

You will be very disappointed if you think of it as a loader,

You will be delighted if you think of it as the best wheelbarrow ever made,

Personally, the why I use it - I would not consider the 1000 on a loboy due to the ground clearance limitations. Once the IH 1000 is on a tractor you really can not do anything else with it. You do not want to take it off to put a mower on it or whatever, it takes a lot of time.

So in the five years did you use it as a wheelbarrow? As i mentioned i have no plans to dig lake meade or anything like that. Bought it yes to use to spread gravel and loose stuff but also for the nostalgia of the combo.

I think any implement that can help you move "stuff" and pick that stuff up to reduce work as we get older is AWESOME. I took the augers off a snowblower and put a heavy castered 3x2 cart on the front to move stuff around because I am officially old now!

Put it on, try it out and if it isn't what you want or gets in the way then sell it or get another cub. Sounds like a great project and have fun.

Thats my plan. Light work maybe a parade or maybe just set in front yard. Im also building a donit yourself backhoe. Tractor just got painted and loader has good paint. And by the way im going for cub 5 friday night. Keep looking for cheap parts tractors but all the cheap tractors i find are to me good enough to save. Only have the one lonely lo boy. I want one more lo boy pre squared nose, thinking 63 and before

Rick Prentice added a backhoe to one of his Cubs 20+ years ago. Lots of solid engineering went into his project. Not sure if there are any old posts with pictures.
He had it at CubFest 2006 in DeGraff, OH...digging out a stump.
My recollection is that it was a Woods Backhoe.

Thats cool. Ive seen woods and case d100 for sale and even came accross a smaller deere backhoe off a 2520 that weighs just shy of 900 pounds. I received so serious trash talk in a fbook group when asking opinions of adding it to my lo boy. In that pic i can tell it is heavier just seeing how its built. Curious of you have any pics of the loader on front of that cub. As i mentioned, all im looking tondonis get the shovel out of my hand, no intent of filling or digging the grand canyon

That actually be the exact tractor i came accross a few months ago when i was doing searches and wasnt a member here. Looks like it a lot and has to be a 1000 loader on front of it. I only see one arm. Is this guy still a member? Think you said rick prentice

And that discussion is still on here. Think it starts with “just had to post this.. cub

As long as you are careful. Double wheel weights in the back a must. I did have front-end problems and needed to reinforce the front spindles. It was also hard to steer with much in the bucket, and I had the small bucket. I always felt as if I was going to break something. I feel more confident with it on the 130. I am not saying it could do a lot more. It just felt like a better match.

put it on, break your cub , then you will know that loaders on tractors are useless!! --- even for light stuff!! Steering is the part that will break first. and gravel or dirt in any amount is WAY too heavy to be messin with! Mini skidloaders cost about the same amount that you will have in something that you wont be satisfied with and are WAY more usefull!!!
