Super A implements and/or attachments

New to this site because I have my eye on a Super A for sale. I have been reading some threads and finding some good info.

I’m looking but haven’t found a website to see all of the implements and/or attachments for it. Any help there?

I have a half acre garden and a JD 32 hp tractor in SE Louisiana on an 8 acre tract that belonged to my Great Grandpa. My Grandpa plowed this garden with a horse and when the horse died he used a borrowed mule. He finally bought a Farmall that went to my cousins after Grandpa died.

I Don’t Need A Super A! But I want it! Vintage car or vintage tractor, I’ll take the tractor.

Welcome! Another Super A groupie!

Does it have a Fast-Hitch? Does it have independently moving rear rockshaft arms?

What do you want to do with it? Plowing dirt? Plowing snow? Cultivating row crops? Mowing grass? Or just collecting stuff like Thanos collects Infinity Stones?

I'll look at my Super A books for a list of implements when I get home later, but one of my favorite and most useful tools for my Super A is the 1A-60 Leveling & Grader blade. I use it to push snow.

I’m not sure what it has! Sorry.

Plowing dirt, and cultivating in the garden.

Thank You!

What a clean unit! Well it looks like it's already set up for cultivating. Looks like it needs the front tines that fit on the square bars and the fertilizer bucket for the sidedresser. You already have the rear sweeps attached.

You also have the Single point fast hitch on the rear. There is a single point ground plow for it. But I'm not too familiar with the world of the Fast-Hitch because I don't have one.

Not just a sidedresser, it has a planter.

Get in touch with forum member mvhicrop aka Buddy Banks in Bogalusa, LA. He can tell you anything you want to know about the tractor and you can see his collection. JMHO Stan

You'll love the Fast Hitch. I've picked up a couple implements off of Craigslist and FaceBook Marketplace, but the best place is to search for auctions that have single point FH implements. I picked up 5 different implements at one auction several years ago in decent shape for around $150 ea.

My favorite I picked up was from a FB Marketplace ad was a horse drawn potato planter converted to Fast Hitch. Actually, went to get a 2-way/hillside plow and the guy had several other pieces too. He needed the space in his barn, and me buying the plow plus some other spare parts sold it to me for $150.00. It works great and I plant 300 lbs. of potatoes every year along with other tractor club members for the Counties Harvest Days Celebration. Here's a video of us planting:

You can buy the aftermarket single points and convert small implements such as horse drawn, or even 3 pt. to FH if you're handy. I converted a 3 pt. hiller to FH for potatoes. I cultivate potatoes in first gear, then hill potatoes in second gear to throw the dirt up better.

I’m still trying to figure this forum out. How can I get in touch with mvhicrop?
You can send him a Direct Message by clicking on his name. Go to the Shows and Anouncements and look for LA Cubfest. He is the host. I sent you a DM, click on the envelope at the top right corner of this page by your username. Stan

I understand. The owner said $10k had been put into the tractor and would take $6k.
#1 rule for old iron: Never expect to recover what you spend when you sell it!
#2 rule: The only people who make money from old iron are the parts sellers and mechanics who work for hire! :) JMHO Stan

I spent $5000 on my Super A. That included a running tractor with straight sheet metal. A complete 1A-60 Blade. Complete set of A-189 plows, a complete 23-A disk harrow for a Cub, and a 2-hour tow to my home.

I probably could have knocked the price down a bit, but I was younger and dumber. But with that being said, I don't regret it one bit. Made a lot of memories tinkering on it with friends, learned a lot about mechanics, and its been a useful (and fun to use!) snow plow machine. There are definitely cheaper Super As out there, but part of its worth is going to be how you rationalize it.

Ultimately its your money to spend and if the machine spirits are speaking to you through this tractor, it can't hurt to listen. 😁
