Fast Hitch Middle Buster F17

501 Club
I have a nice F17 Middle Buster or Potato Plow for the Fast Hitch, as most may know they are super Rare, this has much of the factory paint and Has the depth wheel which is missing from most, the depth wheel still shows the factory decal, , wheel is off but included with it, see it in the pics, this would shine up nice for show or use it, $1500.00 for this
Can bring to Northeast Cub fest if that helps
Thanks Tim

Tim,
What is the wheel for on this plow? I have never seen one like this before. I assume that lever adjusts the plow side to side? Thanks!

On my mounted middle buster the wheel is a gauge wheel to control the depth. the lever does move the bottom left or right. Works great for digging potatoes. Just trying to get nerve enough to modify it with so steel rods tacked to it to roll the spuds further from the furrow1

My cub 16 middle buster did not have a depth wheel when I got it, but I did locate one and traded for it. The lever that move buster laterally is also used when making rows. I couldn’t find a manual for the fast hitch version, but there is a manual for the regular version in the Cub manual section that will explain how it is used
I will add that the Cub 16 buster was highly sought after several years ago. I saw them going for over $1,000 on eBay at one time. No longer the case, or I’d consider parting with mine. One day I do hope to come across the fast hitch version in a barn somewhere 😊

Got this with a 49 FCub about 8+ years ago from the PO who was a longtime friend who is now passed on but owned and used it on his small family farm since early 1950's. He had the modified drawbar to attach it. That's a Hester plow in the background. Stan

with no depth control cannot think it would dig in very well
When I got it, it was connected in 2 places to both parts of the drawbar. He may even had someone stand on the drawbar to make it work. I never saw it being used and have not connected it to the tractor since I owned it. I'll have to ask his son if he knows anything about it. He was from the "old school" that believed in making do with what was available and so long as it got the job done he was satisfied with it. Probably used it one time per year for Irish potatoes. Stan
EDIT: His son said that his job was to stand on the drawbar to make the plow go deeper in the ground!
