If you have the final drive off the Cub, I suggest you replace the other seal on the upper shaft, it is visible after removing the brake drum. It is in the final drive casting.
To remove it, remove the round cover held on with the 4 bolts, remove the brake drum, and brake drum key in the shaft, and the shaft slides out, away from the Cub. Then you can get to the seal, with a long punch, and hammer it out.
Don't hammer directly on a new seal, it can bend it. Oil the seal rubber, and the shaft where the seal runs, so they're not dry. Tighten the setscrew in the brake drum well. Maybe you knew this already.
