Is anyone replacing that difficult o-ring on the control rod for the touch control block?

I just saw this on Facebook (my apologies for those who cannot view this), and I'm curious to see if this "trick" might work for installing the very tight o-ring on the control rod for the touch control block.

I have no immediate plans for this particular task, so if anyone is doing this, and tries this technique, please post and let us know if it works!

I just replaced mine on a 140, same principal, I took the hood off made it easier to see. A little difficult removing the pins from the rods. The rods bumped the bell housing and would not come completely out so o rings had to be installed in place, the string trick works good.

Good to know it worked for you...thanks! Now if I just remember this trick the next time I'm replacing one!! 😉

I tried to find a way to share this REEL video from Facebook, but all I get is the same Facebook link. When I googled how to do it, it said if the video privacy setting was not public, it could not be opened by non-subscribers to Facebook.

Maybe someone with more computer skills can figure out how to copy the actual video without just copying the link.

I guess I could play it on my laptop while filming it with my phone... Maybe I'll try that later. 🫤

I used ShareX on windows to record the video, but I can't seem to edit it to remove unneeded frames at the start and end. How would I add it here? It is an MP4 file. I guess I could save it to youtube.
