If you were closer to eastern Missouri, I might sell you my Woods 42 mower.

Hi, thanks again for the input. I do find some Woods 42 mowers out there, but nothing in my area. The shipping costs is sometimes more than double of what people are asking for the mower. So a mower that is $400 costs $1200 to ship. Ugh. I am thinking about a powered pull behind mower. Something like https://www.drpower.com/power-equipment ... tow-behind
Anyone had a luck with a pull behind for mowing pasture (about 5 acres total..one 3 acres another 2 acres) a couple times a year between grazing rotations?

I would probably consider a new or used tractor that could be used for multiple tasks. A hand scythe is also an option.

Did you check on this one? I don't see the drive pulley that goes on the PTO shaft. The price is way too high if the pulley is missing, some on the high side if it is there.

I am inheriting the Cub and was hoping to use it for rough mowing. Even a used modern tractor goes for 15K plus the rotary cutter is another $1500. I am getting up to a lot of $$$ to mow the fields every season a couple of times, but I guess I could use it for other things. The thing about the modern tractors is the used ones cost almost as much as new...and I don't like buying new, but used does not makes sense...it is crazy market.

I paid a guy $200 to do it once last summer. When we first moved in, I bought a John Deere 445 to do finish mowing as the "yard" is very rough and needed something beefier, now I realize it has some tractor like qualities, looking at building small front end loader to help shovel manure.
I still don't have a solution for rough cut mowing...but that Cub could probably help me pull just about anything better than a riding mower! Ha, ha.

I have seen that guy's ad for a while. Glad he sold the tractor. Not interested in a sickle mower now though.
