Mine leaked so bad I had to put a cake pan under it to catch the oil.

If not using the sleeve the old mechanics trick is to leave the new seal shallow so it rides in a new spot on the pulley. Depending on how bad it’s worn. I’ve done this trick for many decades with seals.

As far as pullers go I probably purchased every puller I owned to man. Remember to oil or grease the threads on the puller before using. I use moly to prevent galling on the threads.
I learned decades ago not to borrow a puller. If it galls we end up buying two, lessons learned.

50/50 premix. Thermosiphon system won’t mix coolant and water.

I use NAPA Green, which was on sale last week for almost 1/2 price!! Bought four 1 gal jugs = 8 gallons:

I mix it myself before I pour it in. I keep the old jugs so I can mix several, since it takes 2 jugs for the dilution. But I make sure the mixed ones are conspicuously marked "50/50".

I never top off the radiators with plain water since I have these ready to go. Also, when winter comes, I know the tractors are all ready!

Yes I never purchase premix. Napa green and some distilled water and we will be good.

Hi,
All the capacities are in the Cub operator's manuals.

The cooling system holds 9 3/4 quarts.
1 gallon of antifreeze is almost enough, but you need more for a 50/50 mix with water.

The Cub operator's manual can help you learn about maintenance that the Cub needs.

Below is the 1949 Cub operator's manual, if you don't have it. The experts on here recommend people read it. It has lots of info about operation, maintenance, and lubrication. There is a table of contents on page 1.
It shows how Cubs originally looked in it. The lube section begins on page 14.

This manual shows the electrical system that a 1949 Cub originally had.
Cubs made before mid 1964 originally had 6 volt, positive ground electrical systems.

The recommendation in the manual to use 10W oil in the Touch Control was changed later to Case IH Hy-Tran fluid. It is sold at Case IH dealers.

I would check or change all the oils before using the Cub. Using it with low oil in a gear housing can damage the parts in the housing.
There are 3 separate gear housings, with 3 separate oil levels to check, in the rear area of a Cub, the transmission, and 2 final drives.

The transmissions in Cubs commonly get water in them, from rain, or condensation inside the housing over time.
