Splitting Stand

Just saw this on Ebay. Anyone else seen it? Not sure about bolting up to the starter bolt holes. I plan on making a stand, will be needing it. Not sure what type I'm going to do yet.

I had good luck with one made out of plywood screwed and glued into L-shaped sections. The Cub is not an Abrams tank. The stand needs to support surprisingly little weight, but you need to make sure the front end is securely wedged or your stand will be loaded in ways you didn't imagine.

I like the splitting stands with the roller on bottom. You can roll the rear away from the front.

Ok so that one holds the back of the engine up. Most I’ve seen is bolted to the torque tube

I did try to look at the stand made from plywood by it seems the pictures are no longer there. Does anyone have the pictures or can those be resurrected somehow?

Mike I found the pix for that how to and restored them. Keep in mind, the author built them to accommodate a high crop Cub. The dimensions will change for a regular Cub.

I sure appreciate the lots of response and the photo's. A friend will be getting his first Cub in a few weeks. He's no welder, but a good woodworker. Hope he never needs them but if he does the information is now avalible.

I have a 47 arriving this weekend that has clutch noise when the clutch is out, and it shuts up when its depressed so I figure it's gonna have to come apart. I'll probably make up a metal version for myself.........but with me, you never know..........lol.

I just use a 120 lb keg that is my trash can under the bell housing. Works good enough for me.

If the noise is from the clutch, start by adjusting the fingers (Can be done through the bottom hand hole.) But the noise can be from the transmission, which means start by taking the top cover off and inspecting it.

My plan is to start there, inspect things thu the hole before I tear anything apart. Would be good if I didn't have to split it. It does go away when the clutch is a little more than half pressed.
