sleeve vs pully
I just removed my crank pully to replace the front seal on my cub. I noticed a very slight wear ring on the pully where the seal goes. Seeing as I don't want to do this again, I am leaning towards a new pully instead of putting a sleeve on the old one. My thinking is it will be easier and last longer. I would appreciate any comments on anyone's experience with this.

Re: sleeve vs pully
The sleeves are designed for industrial use too, so I doubt that you'd ever need to redo it. Placing the sleeve is simple if it comes with the tool or you make one.

Re: sleeve vs pully
Speedy Sleeves are a good fix and probably much more cost effective. Any used pulley will have suffered the same fate. Maybe someone is making new ones, I haven't checked, but hard to believe it wouldn't cost much more than a Speedy Sleeve. If you would find a new pulley, make sure to remove any paint from the seal mating surface.

Go with the sleeve, and never look back! I have them on most of my engines and they seal better than a new pulley would. Thanks; sonny

My front seal was replaced June 2006 and we used the TM Seal & Speedy Sleeve kit. Still no leaks.

Hi,
Below is a listing at TM Tractor for the front seal with the sleeve, it says they are Case IH parts, you can look at the pics.

Re: sleeve vs pully
I have been using a National sleeve and seal that came from local auto parts store in one of mine for about 15 years now and no leaks yet.
