Just a few questions WD Allis

Postby Schst1918 » Sat Feb 05, 2022 7:06 pm

1. Sorry if I asked this before. Is there a forum like this for Allis Chalmers and or another make?
2. I'm replacing the clutch on my WD. Since I'll have the engine out of the frame is there any parts worth replacing? I.e. timing gears/chain, oil pump, valve grind/valve seats grind?
3. Is worth spending the money for a carburetor vice a kit?
Thanks

You might find help here: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q ... WI_jE2Y27G
There's also an AC forum on YT. Good luck.

Carburetor kit. Simple carburetor. The carburetor on my WD was unusual/not standard. I got my carburetor kit from:
https://www.thecarburetorshop.com/

On the engine work - depends on engine condition. You can do an in tractor engine overhaul. If you are going to do major overhaul - replace the cam bearings.
I have an excuse. CRS.

The link posted in Al's post is a good one. I have used it a few times when requesting info on a couple of AC tractors.
