2606 hydraulic issue
I have a new to me international 2606 backhoe/loader. I was trying it out and lift seemed slow and weak. Something started squeeling when operating bucket. Bucket lift got very weak then stopped working. Noise stopped now no hydraulic power anywhere. Any ideas?

Re: 2606 hydraulic issue
Check the fluid level. If not full then you will need to find and correct leaks. If full then it is probably obstructed, or pump failure,

Re: 2606 hydraulic issue
start by putting in a new hydraulic filter. 99% of the time that fixes them.

Have a filter coming. Would the screeming hydraulics as it lost power then quiet after loosing all power be a typical symptom. Anyhow we will see, how much fluid will I need guessing should drain housing

This fixed it! There are 6 control levers for the backhoe. 2 control stiff legs, 2 are linked together that raise lower main boom, 1 controls left right movement, 1 controls outer boom. Cannot see how to knuckle the hoe bucket. ??????

Those stiff legs are actually called outriggers.
Your sticks might be in a different order than I have listed. I listed them in order of the backhoe function from closest to furthest from you while sitting in the operators seat!
1 lever for boom swing left or right
1 lever for boom up / down
1 lever for dipstick in / out
1 lever for bucket roll up / out
Something is wrong if you have 2 levers that is moving your boom! It is possible that 2 hydraulic hoses are needing swapped!
Usually there are decals somewhere by the sticks that tell the function of each! They could be missing or something though!
Good luck!

Figured it out, the two that I thought were tied together are individual . Funny thing is when I operated them together the bucket knuckle did not move at all in either direction. That is what confused me.

Those 4 stick controls on a backhoe look like a bear to operate.
I am spoiled with two stick joystick controls!
But I guess a 4 stick control backhoe is much better than hand powered round point shovel!
