1952 John Deere "AN"

Postby cjet69 » Tue Sep 18, 2018 12:46 pm

Picked this 1952 "AN" up about a year ago and not running. The clutch splines on crankshaft were trashed. I found a used crank and just finished the swap. Here is the first startup and drive.

Nothing sounds better than a 2 cylinder John Deere, thanks for sharing.

Fired up the A today and ran it around the farm for a couple of hours. That got it warmed up good so I could tune the carb some. Its running pretty good, but I do see some smoke now and then when I load it a little. I Hooked up the harrow to try out the hitch/lift and scratched up some ground. The lift holds well and handles the harrow easily.

Nice. As mentioned above, the sound of a Johnny Popper are quite unique and sure is a joy to hear.

I put all of the pictures I took while swapping the crankshaft in my John Deere AN into a video/slide show.
