Feb 14-15, 2020 DSCF...Ready for another year of fun and friends!!
Just called and made my reservations at the Lake Seminole Inn (850-593-6158). ($60/night)
For those who have never stayed there, I will be quite honest. It is a very small place, with rather dingy rooms, and was hit hard during the hurricane a year ago. They had begun some renovations last year, and I stayed in one of the redone rooms, with tiled floor rather than the old carpet, which was better. When I called today, the gentleman said they are having problems with the contractor, who walked off the job after trying to get more money.
SO, what I want to say is that it is unclear what the condition of the rooms will be...he said they hope to have new carpet installed by Feb...we'll see. I will still stay there, because it is the only hotel in Sneads, and I'm too lazy to drive to Marianna!
On another note, as in past years, I will be driving down from Chapel Hill, NC, in my Expedition, pulling a trailer loaded with some Cub Express items. I'm not sure which trailer I will use, since I haven't decided whether I will also bring a tractor to work on. In any case, I will have PLENTY of room for additional riders, if anyone wants to ride down with me. I can go the faster I-95 to I-10 route, or down through Atlanta, depending on if I have a rider or another Express request (I could bring my 18' trailer with lots of room for "stuff").
So let me know if you (or something else) need a ride to the first, and one of the best, Cubfests of the year!

We tried to get camping reservations at the state park nearby and they are back open from the storm but are booked up for the weekend. We stayed in Marianna last year and will most likely do so again this year. That frees up the truck to pull a trailer with a cub project and some room for a cub express ride North if needed. I look forward to seeing and working alongside our good friends in the Cub world. I always learn something new at Cubfests.

Just made reservations. Rosie and I can make it this year.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

No, there is no camping allowed at DSCF. Gary and Steve usually drive their campers to the CubFest from the campground.

Hey guys!, sure looking forward to seeing everyone! Things are slowing getting back to normal from last years storm, but not quite there yet. More news for DSCF will be coming soon.
