trailer repair

Got a project that you are working on that is not a tractor? Maybe a barn to hold your tractors or just fun stuff like woodworking, glass, tools, sheds, gardens, custom implements, etc., this is the place to talk about it.

trailer repair

Postby Rob in NH » Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:14 pm

I've been replace the spring bushings on my trailer to tighten up the suspension, they are aplastic bushing that were completely worn out. i also replaced all the bushings in the equalizers too. I replaced the shackle straps, all elongated bolt holes, my question is the straps were about 5/8 of an inch longer on the replacements and was wondering if this could cause a problem with the springs. I also replaced the tires and wheels too. Thanks for any help on this.

I can see it changing the arc, but not enough to say so. I think I'd try them, and if I didn't like them, it's easy enough to make some the same as the old ones

Agree, shouldn't make any difference.

Suggest max loading the trailer then checking the distance between the axle, fenders, and the trailer frame.
I have an excuse. CRS.
