Bring on the apples

Got a project that you are working on that is not a tractor? Maybe a barn to hold your tractors or just fun stuff like woodworking, glass, tools, sheds, gardens, custom implements, etc., this is the place to talk about it.

Ed came out for a couple of days and we built a cider press to work on his 20 ton press.

Cornmeal, now apple cider. :{_}: :{_}: Cider will go well with fresh Cider Donuts. :) :)

homemade grinder. Wooden rolling pin, with stainless steel screws protruding, for cutters, mounted in a wooden hopper, motorized. When it gets adjusted and debugged, pictures might appear. (if someone posts them for me)

I'm getting this old girl ready for duty in a few weeks. I doubt I can exert as much pressure as your setup, but the new 4x6 uprights should help me get a little closer without self-destructing.

Press worked really well. Any more pressure, and the waste would be fused together, like OSB! Very dry!
Grinder needs a little tweaking. Apples spin, in the hopper, against the cutter. Cutting them in half, might fix it. A pusher assembly would do it, too.

Pressed 7 gallons, Sunday. Just sat down, to a cold glass of cider, after splitting wood, all morning! Helps cool the old carcass down!
