Can you find me now?

Got a project that you are working on that is not a tractor? Maybe a barn to hold your tractors or just fun stuff like woodworking, glass, tools, sheds, gardens, custom implements, etc., this is the place to talk about it.

Can you find me now?

Postby Barnyard » Sat May 24, 2014 3:26 pm

I send and receive a lot of larger packages that won't fit in a standard mailbox. Most of the time I have to leave a note in the box and the mailman will drive up to the house and pick up or drop off whatever won't fit. Besides that, the old "M" that sits on top of my Farmall mailbox was deteriorated enough that you hardly knew what it was.

Many years ago while strolling through a Michigan junk yard looking for Jeep parts I came across one of those oversize boxes. It needed some work and the guy said he would take two bucks for it. Well, me being me, that thing sat in the hay loft for many years because I never got around to it. That is until I decided I needed a bigger mailbox and the other one was in bad shape anyway.

A trip through the blaster, four coats of Valspar red, new decals and a new "M" topper transformed the old box into a decent (there are a few dents, but not bad) box I could put out front. Now anybody going down the road won't miss seeing this monster.

There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.
