For the past 2 or 3 weeks just about every time that I go to this website, I am logged out and have to login. I always select the "keep logged on" box. Anyone else having this problem or is it just my computer?

Ron,
I have experienced this 2 or 3 times in the last week or so. But not as often as you, apparently.

FYI: As long as the box to keep you logged in is checked, the persistent login is set for infinity.

If you are getting logged out, without actually logging out, there are only a few things that could possibly cause this behavior:

1. Corrupted cookie file. (delete and recreate.)
2. Browser or some other software/plugin is deleting or preventing the cookie file from being set. (change browser/plugin behavior.)
3. Someone else is accessing your account and logging you out. (don't know how you fix that problem. ;) )

There are a lot of new browser privacy plugins and enhanced privacy settings that can block cookie files from being saved. The cookie file for the forum is titled: farmallcub.com You can search for it in your browsers cookie file cache.

Thanks,
Dennis

Dennis,
Would logging in on different devices (mobile devices) affect this in any way? Seems every time I have the problem is immediately after going to the forum on iPad or iPhone. But it does NOT always happen.

From my experience, no. I login from many different computers and devices -- each system has their own cookie files. The only possible exception, might be browsers like Chrome when it is setup to synchronize settings to other computers.

It must be Google Chrome. It started about the time that I got a smart phone and set up chrome as a browser and synced my phone to my computer. I set up a gmail email account and routed my old charter.com email to my phone. The first thing that happened was I was logged off my Windows Mail account. After talking to Charter tech support three times, I still cannot log on to my Windows Mail acccount on my computer. I am only getting my Charter emails to my phone. Very upset about this. I have given up, as I don't know what else to do.

I am staying logged on to Farmallcub.com, as long as I use IE browser.

Ron,

In Chrome, click on the "banana" bar (upper right corner) and select settings; then scroll to the bottom of the screen and click the "show advanced settings" link. Look specifically at the "privacy settings". There are a lot of options there that can prevent cookies from being set and also deleting them on exit.

Not sure about the email problems. Have you logged into Gmail from your desktop? It sounds like your emails are being forwarded to Gmail and reverting that could be tricky without some expert help.

Dennis, I am not getting my charter email into my gmail on my computer, just my smartphone. But, it makes sense that if I can get it on my phone, I should be able to route it to my desktop gmail. Now I just have to get my young neighbor to make that happen. :D :D :D
