Does anyone else have the “Not Secure” message before the farmallcub.com? Is there a fix for this? What can I do? Thanks, Frank

Re: Security
It's a public forum. Kind of pointless to use a secure connection when anyone could look at it.
Try to avoid entering bank information or SSN and you shouldn't have to worry.

Re: Security
Hi all, the site did not suddenly become insecure, however, browsers are now highlighting encrypted and unencrypted sites. Since we never force anyone to enter personal information (phone, credit card, SSN, etc.) encrypting discussions about tractors generally does not require encryption technology -- after all it is a public forum.
Eventually, we will employ an SSL certificate for everyone peace of mind, however, doing this will likely break some of the backend programs and will not be painless. So, I'm in no rush to complete this task.
The only security issue I see is members using their REAL full name as your forum login ID. If you do that either change it or make sure you do not add your birth year (just the date) to your profile. You'll still get a birthday notice in the forum, but no one will know your real age (birth year). If you are using a handle, like me, it should not matter.
If anyone still has concerns or questions, please by all means contact me directly (PM or email (cub@farmallcub.com).
Thanks,
Dennis

Re: Security
Dennis,
When I went to SSL on my sites some pages still came up as insecure because of linked pictures. I'll bet you're going to have a problem with that on avatar pictures.
I just tried to change my avatar from http to https and got an error message about the image size.

If the site isn't using SSL then basically all communication between your browser and the server is technically obtainable, including passwords or any private message details that are being sent.
