Happy birthday yes , but pretty sure prior to WWII it was known as US Army Air Corp attached to the US Army similar to the US Navy with the US Marine Corp attached , US Army Air Corp got too big so a new service branch was created, oh US Marines still small so attached to the Navy they are some humor intended

Living so close to Camp Lejeune, Marine aircraft flying around hardly garners a second look. But when something from Seymour-Johnson zooms by, that's worth taking time to (briefly) look at!
