Time to Retire

Postby Stanton » Fri Dec 03, 2021 7:04 am

Well friends, I notified my employer on Wednesday that I'll be resigning at the end of the month. It was well received, which is better than the "Let's just let you go now..." speech. Started working as a draftsman for a consulting engineering firm right out of high school in 1980, become a plumbing designer in 1991 and have over 41 years in this industry. Time to close this chapter and do something else.

It'll be a new time in my life and I'm looking forward to it. I'm hoping to focus more attention to my tractors and equipment, garden, and attend several more CubFests in 2022 to meet some people I already consider friends. Thanks to a few of you who graciously answered some of my questions about retirement along the way.

Congratulations Stanton. Retirement is great. You'll love it..Been retired since June of 2005, retired Teamster Principal Officer, talk about a life of hassle. I got a little bored a couple of days and got up and got busy. Never been bored since.
Be sure you have some good insurance. Again, congratulations.

Congrats.

No words of wisdom. I retired 3 times. Got bored, went back to work at a different job.
I have an excuse. CRS.
