Re: What happened at work today.
It didn’t happen at work but it happened.
2 years ago we had this shed built for our camper, hasn’t been moved since.
The week before Memorial Day I got it out so we could go camping, forgot about this crepe myrtle behind it.
Called my insurance man, they gave us what they could and told me it wouldn’t cover getting it fixed due to water damage from the roof from where it sat outside for so long and we would have to pay for the rest. Got to have a rider for roof, fine print. Instead of fixing it I talked my wife into selling it as is.
It needed a new roof, awning, tires, water and sheet metal damage fixed, etc. We posted pictures and didn’t hide any of this info. Had 70 people contact her in 2 days. Between what we sold it for and insurance we made $408 over what we paid it for it years ago.
I immediately filled the shed up when it left.

That seems, to me, to be a move in the right direction. My idea of "roughing it" while traveling is b&w tv at the motel.

Re: What happened at work today.
I had similar deals on cars I’ve owned, that other people ran into. I made pretty good money on the last one. Just prior to the Covid fiasco, I bought a hybrid camping trailer, as a fixer upper, to use while the motor home was in the body shop. Fixed the awning and a couple other things, cleaned to up a bunch and used it for a week at the Portland show. The following spring, Covid in full swing, I brought it out of the barn and posted a Craig’s list ad, again as a fixer upper. I added $500 to my purchase price hoping to get most of the purchase price back, and launched my ad at 10:20 am. I had a deposit in my hand at 11:30, full payment the next day and no haggling the price at all.

Re: What happened at work today.
Sorry you went through that ordeal, Shane. But at least you didn't lose money on it.
I wonder if RVs are like boats? They say the best 2 days of boat ownership are the day you buy it and the day you sell it....

I've heard of boats being defined as "a hole in the water that you throw money in."
