Seemingly a lifetime ago, I competed on motorcycles in motocross, enduro, hare scrambles and observed trials. I'm a racer at heart and still wish I could do it today. My first race was in 1974 and my last race was in 2005, competing at age 50. Alas, racing motorcycles is a young mans game and at some point I had to confess that I'm getting old. I still love all forms of motorcycle racing and follow it closely today.

While we’re on the subject of user names…
I’ve noticed over the last several years, some of the new members have used their email address as their user name. Easy to remember, but from the standpoint of internet security, I think this is a rather risky thing to do. Just sayin’.

I agree with Don.

There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

A email address for a user name is just asking for spam.

Back when evilbay got started I made the mistake of taking a friends advice of using my email address for a ebay user name!

Was not long until I had to change the user name and start a new email because of all the spam!

Good luck to those that use a email for a user name, but my advice is dont do it!

Back in the stone age, when I was much younger and before this forum, the only way of having a tractor discussion was by an email group. This email group covered all different brands and models into one discussion group. When there was a question about IH tractors I would answer if I could, especially about cubs. One spring there had been an unusually high amount of discussion about Cubs, and one of the members got tired of it and asked on the group when we were going to quit talking about cubs and start talking about real tractors (He owned a green tractor.) After that I started signing my emails John, another one of them *%@!#%^&** cub owners. and so my screen name was born, though in a shorter version. :tractor:

John,
You were stirring the pot in your younger days and still doing it today, hence the green grille on your Cub loader tractor.

Been around tractors and construction machinery most of my life. I remember a pulling tractor (a 966 I think) that was named Tired Iron back in the mid 1980's as a young lad. There was another place that had some old construction equipment and they called it Tired Iron Farm when I worked road construction. The name Tired Iron just seemed to stick with me as I thought about old tractors and machinery through the years.

Well I've got a "hobby" car I bought way back in 1985
For those interested it's a Holden Torana GTR XU-1
Holden was owned by GM up until 2017 when it was shut down
You can just see the GTR XU-1 decal on the front guard , or fender
The Torana XU-1 was a homologation special built just to bend the rules for racing back in the '70s
So it became goxu1 in support of the mighty xu-1
Cripes - I thought I'd never get one.

BullDAWG came from both mine and my son's alma mater (MSU) Bulldog's, and from my other children my dawgz. The reason I spell it and sum uther words incorrectly is to emphasize a suthurn drawl. Y'all yankees talk funny so I gotta spell it the way it should be said. Like war. We say war, as in, I'm a fixin ta fix that hole in the barbed-WAR fence.

Okay, my dad was away in the military when I was born so mom told him the name she'd picked out for me. He hated it so she change the middle name to his own name and it was the first name David he didn't like because of a relative. Once he was home he somehow (TV ) named me Yogie and no one in my family has ever called me anything else. After graduating 44 years ago in 1978 the name David doesn't even turn my head. Mr. Don McCombs and my mother in law are the only ones who call me David.
