got any pics on how you did that? I don't plan to have to use it on our gravel lane.....unless we get a deep one......more so out on the community road which is a paved road.Mike H wrote:also something we use up here is a piece of 1 1/2 gas pipe across the cutting edge to reduce the chance of picking up rocks [noticed some 22A in the blower].
its used for going across lawns too

Not sure if the guy had it on craigs list, I got it off of Yahoo groups.........not in Buffalo anymore, my brother is though...............the guy had wanted to sell the blower with the tractor/154 model and really didn't want to break the two apart so I had to persuade him with some extra greenback.........I overpaid but something like this that is somewhat rare and this one was all there with no missing pieces and no bad bearings made it the find I was looking for.......I had only seen 2-3 for sale in the last 3 years and everytime I went to contact the seller I was a day late and a few short.gitractorman wrote:Hey Neighbor!
Great looking Cub! I think I saw that snow blower for sale on CL last spring. Glad it went to a good home. I'm anxious to see how it works, but hopefully not till Christmas! I see your zip code is Buffalo, but those photos must be in the suburbs somewhere..... No land like that or pole barns in the 201 zip code! I'm located up in Grand Island.
Nice work!

depending on how well it works or doesn't..lol, meaning lugs the motor, I may do away with the driveshaft underneath and fab a mount set up to put a 12-14 hp briggs on the front of the blower......my Dad did that to his when he had one many moons agooutdoors4evr wrote:What a nice looking rig! Great move going with the two stage blower.
I am suprised at the belt ratio from the PTO to Driveshaft. The Model 50 snowthrower had a 1:1 ratio and would barely throw the snow a few feet at wide open throttle. I have no idea what the gear ratio is internal to the blower. I am very sure that McKee has it engineered properly.
I guess if you need it to spin faster you could just switch the two pulleys.
