sediment bowl replacement

Postby kully560 » Thu Mar 31, 2022 2:43 pm

hello, I need a little help with a replacement sediment bowl assembly. my shut off valve is not holding back the gas in the fuel tank. I will run the motor out of gas and still have a very small gas leak out of the bottom of the carb. I located one at tractor supply made by Countyline, has anybody used this brand as far as reliable quality. thanks for any opinions kully

Some say the ones from TSC do not fit right and or leaks. TM has them in their website at the bottom of the page

I have used several from TSC with no problem, however we have found the same quality at Rural King cheaper.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Got mine for my 185 from Hamilton Bob's, advertiser at the bottom of the page. Fit well and works great over a year later.

I just deleted mine all together and put regular fuel hose with a filter and shut off. The original bowl started to leak, so I totally rebuilt it. New gaskets/screen, trued up the top face of the glass since it was nicked, lapped the shut off valve, etc.. Still leaked. Replaced it with one from Tractor Supply, that one leaked even worse. Glass on that bowl wasn't machined right for starters, so I trued that up and it worked for a while, then everything else started leaking on it. Not worth it anymore to me.

Have you tried to take yours apart and inspect / clean and / or rebuild it?

It may be a piece of debris of some sort got lodged in the way and is preventing a full shut off

Same thing happened to me. Any way, I now use ball valves and inline filters.
I have an excuse. CRS.
