184 RPM setting
The book says that RPM is 2510 high idle and 2300 with full load. I am assuming this means 2510 at full throttle just sitting there running in neutral? My dad has always said I am setting them to high and he sets his for 2300 just sitting there in neutral. Is 2510 like I am saying or am I looking at it wrong?

Re: 184 RPM setting
2510 rpms means full throttle, tractor's engine only, just sitting there.
Service manual, GSS-1408
Proper ignition timing at high idle is essential for best performance and engine life. Therefore, the distributor should be set to give the exact timing at high idle. Any variance that may exist then will occur at the low idle end of the advance curve.
I have an excuse. CRS.

Re: 184 RPM setting
I use the loaded RPM, but set the RPM's while running the mower deck as a load. (watch your toes) I realize that the mower deck is not a full load on the tractor, but... it is the most typically used implement on my 184.
