Idle adjustment
Just picked up my first low boy cub parts are on way from Hamilton Bob's rear main seal and clutch... tractor runs good starts easy just believe it idles to high any adjustments anywere ?? I picked up service and parts manual so it's on it's way also.. also believe it have a pennington mower model 626b but not 100% sure trying to get access into manual page to get more information on my mower deck

Two adjustments exist.
1) There is an idle stop on the carburetor. (back side of the carb behind the intake)
2) Adjust the governor to carburetor rod length. This process is described in a How-To and in the manual.

The governor may never pull the rod far enough to hit the stop. Check by having the tractor at a low idle and pull the governor throttle rod forward (toward the front of the tractor). If the idle speed drops, then it wasn't sitting against the stop.
I'd probably guess that wear contributes greatly to this.
