My blown up transmission and creeper set..

Postby MikeEyre74 » Mon Jul 08, 2019 6:20 pm

Here’s a few pictures of what I found when I pulled the transmission and creeper gear apart today.

So just like a few folks here experienced them selves and suspected, in this picture you can see half of a woodruff key sitting in the bottom of the creeper.

This is my 2nd to 3rd gear slider, which is missing a couple of teeth.

I forget what this is called, but it’s inside the creeper gear set up. While this gear is fine, these things inside of it…

They look like short dowel pins, they are chewed up and are almost starting to get filed down to a point? I don’t see these things listed in any online shop. Are they available or are they something else that I can pick up at the hardware store?

I also need the 2nd to 3rd gear slider fork, so that’ll be on my shopping list as well. It’s broken in two.

ouch! Hopefully you can find the parts you need to put her back in service. HamiltonBobs has quite a selection of creeper parts.

They also have the 2nd-3rd shift fork.

Funny, I just spoke to Bob on the phone this morning. He got me all squared away and parts are on the way for the repair.

I purchased extra tranny’s for my fcub and 154’s from Ralph decades ago. I have a complete 154 on shelves. With a creeper from bobscubs, Cub cadet parts, kohler engines with parts. I figure if I’m going to use them I better have the parts to keep them running. I purchased the different 154 driveshafts too. I have the option of putting the best parts in the tractor when restoring it.
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.
