My new 154 - some q's

Postby Rollin154 » Fri May 26, 2023 5:54 am

Hello folks, new to tractors, new to my 154! :tractor:

But do have some mechanical experience with cars.

I bought this (and a second parts 154 mostly in pieces) with a belly mower and back blade.

Anyway, bought to mow and hopefully find a snow blade before winter. It does have a 3 point and the hydraulics seem good. Engine runs good but it seems excessively noisey under the seat (I don't know how it's supposed to sound though).

For starters, the ID plate is illegible. Any other ideas as to year?

Also any idea what deck I have? I was told it needs the blades sharpened. I did mow a row and it's cutting badly (please see pic - what looks like a line is high, almost uncut grass)

The PTO lever needs held up, I understand that may mean I need to rebuild the PTO clutch?

Anything else appreciated.

Pete

Engine clutch is under the seat as well as the PTO clutch.

Engine clutch is a floppy arraignment. Need to remove sheet metal to "tighten" things up.

Probably the spring that holds the lever in place. You will probably have to remove the sheet metal to get to the spring.

if you don't have the manuals, located at Quick links, upper left of this page.
I have an excuse. CRS.
