cabbage on sale for .20 cents a #.
picked up 6 heads for making kraut in canning jars. :{_}:
nothing like home made kraut on brats. :mrgreen:

As a kid, I remember pulling the floating wooden top off one of GrandMa's big crock jars. It was sitting on the screenporch, full of cabbage, Making kraut.
One look at that stuff "turning"into kraut has kept me KRAUT free ever since. :x

I feel the same way about mushrooms
kept in the dark and fed hoarse pucky just don't get it for food :wink:

39 cents a lb for cabbage in central Missouri.

Only time I use sauerkraut is on reuben sandwiches with home made pastrami. For that I purchase a single can of kraut.
