I have a Acmeline MFG corn planter. I received it from my father-in-law about 10 years ago and he is no longer with us. It would be nice to try it for sweet corn this year. I have no idea how the spacing is done. I need guidance. My planter is the same as the one pictured on e-bay only dustier.

Re: Acmeline MFC Corn Planter
Plant sweetcorn seed 6" apart in the row and rows can be as close as you want. I use 38" rows here and have the best luck with that. 30" is too close to harvest by hand unless you do 1 row at a time and mow down the stalks so you can reach the next row.

Re: Acmeline MFC Corn Planter
I plant just as Sonny explained in the past, but somehow I thought this would drop more than one seed at a time. When I get the planter cleaned up I will check its count and go from there. Sometimes I planted 2 seeds together and then removed one later. Thanks

Re: Acmeline MFG Corn Planter
I think that style jobber is supposed to drop only one seed at a time. Test it on a hard surface to be sure. The ones we used, as youngsters, were a bit different than that one.
