About time to start rototilling. The clay ground is much less sticky now. (might be even a little frozen in the great white north this morning)

I put the tiller on my oldest Kubota, yesterday. Today, I’ll till my wife’s little garden, then drive up the road a mile or so and till a lady’s garden there. High temp for today supposed to get up to 70 deg. Should be a nice one.

We’ve had corn in for a week or so. But, with the dry, cold weather nothing’s happening yet.

Local farmers are mowing hay. That is about 2 or 3 weeks early for this area and the hay is short/not tall. Currently extremely dry. Guessing the farmers are taking the hay now because if the dry conditions presist, there may not be any more this year.
I have an excuse. CRS.

Watering the fruit and nut trees on the acreage.

Missouri Drought Monitor came out today. Still in moderate drought area. 0.67" rain on acreage so far in May and 2 3/4" rain in town.

Last Sunday talking to neighbor who runs cattle on acreage. Told neighbor that I had not seen any cattle on acreage. Neighbor said the ponds are drying up. The cattle were on the other half of pastures and that he was saving the acreage and this side because of the year round springs on the acreage.

Neighbor expects the drought to worsen.

Told neighbor that I had planned on clipping the pasture. Told neighbor I would just spray weeds and leave the grass for his cattle.
I have an excuse. CRS.

We got 3 inches of rain, yesterday and last night. No drought monitor needed! I need to research growing rice!
