Re: 2020 gardens
I'm late on getting onions in. I'll have them in today and potatoes over the weekend. Lots of folks planting way more this year the way the economy is going. Have a couple friends who are doubling what they had put in usually.

WHAT!!!?????!!!
Nobody said it took effort! Where do I get a gardener?
Glad I plowed, amended the soil, tilled and prepared my garden last year getting it ready for planting this year.

I guess I stand corrected, I was told to get the garden ready to plant, so am working on that. It will be smaller than normal, but should be mostly done by the end of today.John *.?-!.* cub owner wrote:Between my osteo arthritis that is spreading through all my joints and even into my neck, and my wife having breast cancer I doubt we will have a garden this year.

Re: 2020 gardens
It’s a beautiful day here in Raleigh NC so I think a day in the garden is in store. 480 heirloom tomatoes, 7 varieties in the ground and looking good. I hope to finish weeding today and get a few rows of okra planted

Hope to be able to till the garden sometime this month.
21 degrees and an inch of snow last night, on top of 1.5 inches of rain over the last two days.

Re: 2020 gardens
Potatoes froze last night! --- fruit trees don't look good either. A lot of other plants are hanging like they had weed killer sprayed on them! Time will tell if anything comes back! Guess that's why everything was holding back for so long! ended up getting zapped anyway!

Sure is winter, in MD, Don. Might get a frost tonight, then, the rest of the week looks good, exept for more rain! Did get my onion seedling planted, finally, thanks to my tiller. (Only machine that can swim, of the bunch. Ask the 2 cubs, sunk in the garden!). I have a bunch of cool weather crops, that should be in the ground, but none of them csn swim! (Cabbage, kale, broccoli, lettue)

About a month ago the western slope had a night of 19*. They estimate that 95% of the peach crop was lost.
