Hi,
I'm currently restoring my cub cadet 124. One thing that I kept pushing forward was the selection of white paint.
Since I live in Europe, it's very hard to get parts and even impossible to get paint.
Originally, the tractor came with 902 white but this doesn't seem te be available at all anymore.
The next choice is to go with the IH 935 white paint.
-I have acces to a spectrophotometer but only the inside of the rims were still the original white paint and the rims do not fit in the spectrophotometer
-Cross reference from PPG or Dupont codes seems not possible here in the EU
-Paint can't be shipped at al by airplane
The only thing i did not do for the moment is to bring a rim to the local paint store and try to color match it on sight. In the next month this will also not be possible because of lockdown (corona)
So the question is does someone have other references for the 902 or 935 white paint such as formula's or spectrophotometer readings?
Any other options?
Kind regards,
Matthias

Re: Cub cadet white paint
I have a 124 that appears to be an older repaint, but looks good so I left it as is. They are nice machines, you will enjoy it!
Matching paint can be as controversial as what kind of oil or transmission fluid to use I have been satisfied with Rust-Oleum Almond, don't know if it's available there.
Here's a paint reference chart that might help:
Good luck,

Re: Cub cadet white paint
David,
Thanks for your reply.
Can't wait to start using it, been restoring it for 2 years now.
Rust oleum is available, the colors are different
At my trusted paint supplier, I tried all these cross-reference codes but none of those is known over here.
Still hope someone measured it with a spectrophotometer.
Another option is that someone wants to sell me some paint chips sprayed with the 935 white. I could share the values after measuring.

Re: Cub cadet white paint
Welcome to the Forum!
The 124, and the 1x4/1x5 series Cub Cadets are my favorites, and I've restored several of them. I can tell you that the Case Iron Guard 935 white paint is just about the best stuff you can buy, and it will look great on the 124.
Here are some pics of ones I've restored:
The first one is a 1967 124 that I did a total re-paint with Cub Cadet paints, federal yellow and 935 white. If you go in a Cub Cadet dealership, you have to ask for the "old IH Cub Cadet yellow and white". The Cub Cadets from the 1990s are totally different colors, and I have no idea about the new Cub Cadet yellow color.
The second two pictures are one that had original paint and decals on the hood, and I bought 902 white paint to do the rims and mower deck. Cub Cadet Connections (website) used to sell it for something like $25 per spray can, but it was a perfect match.
The 3rd and 4th pictures are a Cub Cadet 105, that I put a new 14-hp kohler engine in. That tractor was another complete re-paint, this time with Case/IH Iron guard Federal Yellow and 935 white.
If I had the 3 tractors sitting next to each other your "might" be able to tell that the 902 white is slightly less "almond" color than the 935 white, but it would totally depend on the lighting.

Re: Cub cadet white paint
I was going to say my 108/ 1200 quietline is more white, they could be repainted, while my older 70/100/122/104 is more almond color. I like the almond color better.
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

Why not buy a can from the US, ship it to you, then spray it and get the spectrometer numbers?
White 935 is available here: https://www.ccspecialties.org/paint.html
They claim to have international shipping.
