On Steiner's, just search for Farmall B crankshaft.

Only one comes up, and I don’t think I can make a six cylinder one work

I see. That one has 5 main bearings. Definitely won’t work.
When I first glanced at it, I thought it was for a 6.
The B has 3 mains.
Thanks for trying!
The ih part I need is 251587R2

At Steiners, the $299 crank is #IHS-299 and appears correct in the photo. The $199 is wrong, in the photo, 5 mains as you observed. There is also a new one listed for $329 so their listings are very unclear. Maybe the paper catalog has better explanation and description. You can't always trust the posted photos, either. When I get out to my shop, a little later, I'll try to remember to take a look.

O K, it does no good to search for a "B" crankshaft, they show you anything that's crankshaft. I didn't see the IHS299, it may be the one you need but I can't tell. The only cranks in the paper catalog are for the Cub (IHS211) and one for the British tractors. It might be worth calling them but I'm sure there are other sources offering re-ground crank / bearing kits.

I sent them an email. Based on the picture the ihs299 wouldn’t work. The B crankshaft has a sharp ridge machined in to ride against the thrust bearing part of main bearing 3.
It does look like there are a couple options out there. Even at 450 dollars, at least the Wenger unit is ground and comes with new bearings.

That is exactly what I found online at Steiners.

Follow up with Bernie. He is even semi-local.

Yes for sure. I called and left a message for him. I would guess that I will probably connect up with him sometime today. He is about a 4.5 hour drive from here.
Well worth it if he has the goods :D

Well, after many dead ends, I just ordered a crank from Dieselcranks.com. It's ground .010 and ready to go. Not the cheapest place for sure, but the best one I could find. So, I can put that mistake behind me at least.
