Grandpa's '41 B got new sleeves & pistons in the early '50's, still running, showing a little smoke, think its valve guides! Done under the peach tree in the orchard! My first move would be pull the head and go from there.

I heard people say be careful rotating the crankshaft with the head off, because you take a chance of popping the sleeves out of place.

Especially if the pistons are stuck in the sleeves!

Looks like your tractor has some parts to the cultivators on it!

Yes! That’s why he bought it back in 44!
Over the years it devolved to just pulling hay wagons, raking, and running augers/hay conveyor. The front mounts are a little bent, and actually broke the casting on 2 of the mounting holes. I will probably leave them off when I put it back together again.
A little more progress... got the engine in a stand and took the head to a machine shop.
