Plowing with the Super C
We decided to plow up a small hay field and re-plant with a good hay/pasture mix. I started out by brush hogging it down tight in prep for plowing. Since it is a small odd shaped field I used the Farmall Super C with a 2-point 16" C-10 plow. It took me 2 afternoons to get it plowed.

Re: Plowing with the Super C
After repairing the Disc on Saturday, I hooked it up to the Farmall M and got a couple rounds over the field. I was going to run the tiller over it on Sunday, but the rains came and I am still waiting to get back on it.

Awesome! Thanks for the pics.
Had my SC out brush hogging this weekend and it was...really cool! Did all the other brush hogging on the JD this summer and this was a nice change.

I tilled the field, smoothed it out some with a steel beam drag, and re-tilled. I think its ready for planting if the weather cooperates.

Re: Plowing with the Super C
We planted the field and rolled it in on the last day of September. I looked at the field yesterday and found the grass is starting to sprout even though we are getting freezing overnight temps the last several nights. The cool weather is about a month earlier than its been the last 5+ years so I hope the grass will still get a good start.

Re: Plowing with the Super C
We've had several sunny days now and the field is getting a green tint to it.

OK, we have just had some really nice rain (with some more coming), and I had finished spreading about 22 dump truck loads of dirt, so would you please come and do the same thing here at my place?!
Looking good!

If you supply the pizza and beer, I'll be right over.

Re: Plowing with the Super C
I'm afraid the pizza would be cold and the beer warm by the time you got here from NW Washington!!!
But if you head out now, and give me a one hour arrival warning, we'll have them JUST RIGHT, before you start working!

Dale, you never serve pizza and beer BEFORE the work starts. Only AFTER it is done.

It only affects the quantity and quality of the work.

Re: Plowing with the Super C
The temps have been in the 50's for the last several weeks with one day almost hitting 60 degrees so the new grass keeps growing. We've been getting a bit of rain also as you can see by all the water in the field.
