Help identifing a PTO driven bush hog style mower

Does anyone know what the make and model this mower is? I got it with a 140 I purchased a few years ago. The PO painted it and there is not tag I can find. There were some problems with it and I just got around to getting it ready to use.

I am curious if that clutch is ok and would like to try to find a manual.

I recall there is a Rotary mower or cutter manual that was a large pdf with all of the IH mowers in it. Am I miss remembering that?

I dont know what brand is, but wondering why you are worriedif the slip clutch is ok?

Maybe post side pics of the gear box.

Seems to me if you hook it up to mow, you'll find out if it slips or not!

Sometimes slip clutch instructions will have you loosen tension and slip it some.

Sometimes they have a tendency to be stuck together from sitting a long time!

Sam, I have run it several times. It seems to start out ok and cuts well and starts slipping after some time maybe 20 -30 minutes.

I have it set high 8-10" and the front is lower than the back.

I just have not seen this type of clutch before

I wonder if that big nut is what adjust the amount of tightness.

I can not see any springs there.

Makes me wonder if the thermal coefficient of expansion is making your gearbox shaft longer, giving less tension on the friction plate.

Can you see some sort of fiber friction disc between the metal plates?

Is the nut supposed to be locked in place with a cotter pin?

I have not messed with that nut yet. it does look as if it was moved. there is a metal plate and two fiber discs. The metal plate is a hex and the heavy steel C shaped piece catches it solid one way but not the other.

Right no springs - that is what is throwing me off.

I found a manual with a troubleshooting guild for the clutch. I have a a guide now as to what to try. Mostly it is tightening the nut till the slipping just stops.

FYI - This clutch is called a "Gyramor" slip clutch. A lot of info online once you know that.
