The first pic is the cutout on my 1947 Cub generator. Charges the battery like a champ.

The second pic is the “cutout” I bought for my 1942 AV. Both are 6V positive ground systems, wired identically. Both use a 4-position switch. The AV won’t charge at all.

Could the AV “cutout” really be a regulator and would that prevent it from charging?

Thoughts?

This was what a company sent me as a 6V cutout.

Would this prevent it from charging properly?

on the 2nd one connect a wire from the F terminal of gen to FLD terminal of regulator. The regulator case will have to have a good ground, might need to remove some paint.
