BN and A engine swap

Would a motor from an A be a direct swap into a BN? I might have a lead on an A and my BN is locked up.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Yes. The only way you could tell it was swapped is that the serial numbers will no longer match.

Why is your BN locked up? If is is a stuck piston, keep in mind that it is a wet sleeve engine. A fix may be no more than a sleeve & piston replacement.

Jim, I hope to dig into the engine once I move it back inside this winter. Hopefully it is a simple fix.

A lot of parts from an A should fit a B or BN, except for axle, axle housings, front end, and a few other parts.

I just went to look at the A. It is not coming home with me.

There are a lot of early A’s out there and you should be able to pick up a runner for half the price of a comparable Cub.
