140 makes a darn good sprayer!

Postby Saucymynx » Sun May 31, 2020 9:59 pm

I have been using my 3pt sprayer on another tractor with a 3PH but it is such a PITA to take it on and off. I had the brilliant idea of setting it on my 140 carry-all, and it works great (when the tractor isn’t dying on me - see other post :( ). And the pto pump is soooo much easier to attach! I love my 140!

The fence is a piece of history and I love it but wouldn’t want to mow around it.
I’m guessing you’ll probably stack a double set of weights up front to counter balance all that fluid weight.

The fence was a fun project. I found a man in north central TN that splits cedar rails for a living and he gave me some great advice along will selling me a truckload of rails. It took a February weekend. The hardest part - and it wasn't too hard - was drilling the cut stone blocks the fence rests on for rebar. Yes, it does complicate mowing, so I mow inside the rails every other week with a push mower

With a full tank (which I never use), the sprayer weighs about the same as my 1F36 disc (with I use a lot. The tractor does a good job of keeping its front feet planted without additional weight. No front wheel weights either. The disc does a terrific job. My only complaint is that with full lift it barely clears the ground for transport. It';s even worse for my 2-bottom plow :-(
