I don't know how many were made, but once the tractors were made they were shipped to New York to have the forklift attachment added.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

I see the current location is Eden, NY. It didn't get far from home (build Nunda, NY). The original tractor was shipped from IH to Piper & Paine as a skid unit. The serial number indicates it was the ninth one built to Piper & Paine spec 604. P&P made a variety of machines based on IH tractors. One was a paver for laying blacktop built on larger high clearance tractors. They also made other size fork lifts. Here is a Cub fork lift.

Re: Check this out......a 140 Tractor Fork Lift
Pretty cool.........thanks Jim. Looking at the Cub fork lift it's really nothing more than a Cub power unit with a torque tube, right? Why didn't they just send them those two parts instead of a whole tractor? Would have been cheaper.....no?

Re: Check this out......a 140 Tractor Fork Lift
The Cub Trac-Lift has the whole Cub drive train, including the drop housings. It also has some other assorted parts (pedals, seat post, others?). Without seeing the original spec, it is hard to say what was actually included. They may have shipped it with a front axle as a shipping convenience then returned the axle to the factory. I'm sure they tried to configure it to minimize costs.
