Have you ever had a tree/log hit a snag and had the tractor try to flip on you? Hitching to the rear lift arm way up high instead of the drawbar is pretty risky. I would use the rear lift to set the trunk on the drawbar then lash to the drawbar. I am sure you know what you're doing but be careful.

Boy that cub starts good! You need to get to be better friends with it! Shake hands with the shift lever before every start. Hate to see you run over! Cubs do start well when properly maintained. Check and see if you can earn the circle of safety badge.

jhiltz , good afternoon from the deep south ( temp today 72 degrees ) IMPRESSIVE . i got cold just just watching that . always amazed with the resolve of the great white "northerners" . rudi ( cubber ) of canada comes to mind , but many others . never pulled logs before , but always heard to try and get the load as low as possible . lookes like the end of the log is protected by the drawbar from getting whacked though . good luck and stay warm , coppersmythe...............................................

Nice video, but I 2nd the comments from skwimjim. Tractors will kill you if used incorrectly. Pulling logs can be done safely, but the log needs to be connected to the tractor by chaining it to the drawbar. The log has too much leverage when mounted high like you have in the video. Front wheels pulling off the ground shows that. It will flip the tractor over if the rear wheels get enough traction to pull it over when the log catches on something. Google the web for tractor accidents and you will understand where we're coming from. I'm sure many of us have lost a friend or relative to unnecessary accidents. You have been lucky so far.
