Jim, if ever you thought anything you ever wrote or said helped anyone, it did. Thanks to your article in RPM, I have solved the charging problem with my '49. Turns out there was a ground problem at the switch.

"Commonly, the switch grounds to the instrument panel." :shock:

That one statement in the troubleshooting section did it; to much paint :oops: :!:
