I now own 4 grease guns. Where three of them are I dont know. But I do know the loncnlube gun is pretty fantastic.

And I know that sounds like an ad but it is not.
I used my new grease gun, since it was the only one I could find and greased the cub. However, all the grease fell out of the steering.
Now, the center linkage is pretty loose, and I should probably fix it but I havent yet. However the outer linkage is pretty tight but after mowing, all the grease seems to have fallen out.
Thoughts? Suggestions?
Grease the steering, but it all fell out.

Andrew,
These are not a sealed fitting.
Per the Owners Manual, these are supposed to be greased every 10 hours.

What kind of grease did you use? Maybe it's too thin?

Yikes! You can spend a lot less on grease next time. We’re not working on Indy cars here.
I use the green tube Tractor Supply grease on just about everything that requires lubrication.

The steering rod ball head may be too loose in the steering arm socket. There are shims between the lower plate and the steering arm. Remove the bolts and lower the plate to take out a shim. While you have the steering arms down, manually grease the ball & socket. This is better than greasing through the fitting with a grease gun.

Cub steering does not take much grease. 1/4 to 1/2 a pump per joint in my opinion. A little dab will doo.
Is that grease priced for a dozen tubes?

I'd just grease it more. It's just an open area. You for sure won't hurt it over greasing it. It will just push out, you won't blow anything apart greasing it every time you use it if you wanted.
