bearing in tensioner pulley

Postby crankstart » Tue Sep 20, 2022 4:04 pm

I had a bearing come apart in one of the tensioner pulleys for my belly mower. looking on line for a new bearing has been no help as I had no idea there were so many different types of bearings! It comes out of a Browning BK70H pulley, has anyone replaced this ball bearing before?

Any numbers on the bearing and race? If so, nearest auto parts store with the numbers for a match up. No numbers, take bearing, race, and pulley to the same auto parts store.
I have an excuse. CRS.

I'm taking a WAG but the Browning BK70H sheave that I can find uses a taperlock bushing to fit on the PTO shaft. From your 2nd pic it looks like a copper/brass insert outside the bearing race like someone made an adapter for a ball bearing to fit in and used the Browning sheave to function as an idler sheave. You might be ahead of the game to just replace the idler sheave as a complete unit instead of trying to source a bearing. What is the mfg of your mower? Might be able to search for the mule drive/idlers if you know who made the assembly. Stan
EDIT: Here's a idler assembly on a mule drive for a BUSH HOG 412 Mower:

I looked for number on the bearing but could not find one, however, searching the part number supplied by tst gave me a look alike bearing with the same dimensions, for $6.95 I'll give it a try! Thanks to all.
