Hi all, I was putting my magneto back in my tractor. After timing it correctly the magneto seized up. It wouldn’t spin either direction, I took it apart to see if anything wrong, I couldn’t find anything wrong with it. Any advice on how to get it unseized?

Just how did you end up at this point? Did you ever get it bolted to the engine? How apart did you take it? Did you put it back together after taking it apart?

I think I found the issue. The spring was catching on the bolt behind the flywheel. I lubricated everything back there. The magneto is spinning now.

A bolt that holds the flange onto the main body of the magneto? The best I recall, those should have a fairly low profile screw head. As long as you have clearance now, you should be okay. Just be sure there is enough clearance that it doesn't collide some time later on.
