Re: paint
Hi,
Welcome to the website.
Below is a page from the Cub and LoBoy parts manual, showing some of the styles of Cubs, and the serial numbers when they were made.
The lower picture on the page shows the 1st style of square front Cub, they were Farmall Cubs, up to serial number 224704, they were red.
There were some that were red with a white hood then too.
The manual doesn't show those, someone that knows about those will probably write.

At 224705 the yellow and white International Cubs came out.

I could not say tractor when I was 2 years old so I called it Err Err.
I loved this tractor then and I still love it now. - Circle of Safety: Y

Re: paint
If you decide to go red, USE THE IH PAINT!!! I did my Cub and 300 with the TSC paint, looked pretty but after couple years the tops of the hood have oxidized a little. The IH paint just looks so much better and its tougher. Gasoline bubbles the TSC paint, the IH Paint it didn't do anything and that is after leaving a gas soaked rag on a painted part over night. Well worth the money.
