Not a cub steering box but a bush hog gearbox with good results

I have about 4 tubes sitting around here. I actually folded the leaking gearbox on a bish hog I had. It will work same as that 00 grease I I think its called. Farmall51 talks about the later in a video he does, it's either on a Cub or a 140.

Before you put grease in the steering box clean the vent hole in the full plug to see if you really have a problem with leaks

If the vent hole is clogged pressure builds up from the heat of the radiator and forces the oil past the seals/ gaskets. Cleaning the vent hole is one of the first things I do to a new to me cub.
When you only have 9 horsepower you need to know the names of all of the ponies!

We put corn head grease in someone’s Cub steering gear, a couple years ago, at the Barnyard Bash. I don’t remember who’s and don’t know how it worked out. Maybe someone knows and can report.
